Love Notes – Wende Harston, Vocals & Hank Troy, Piano
February 8 @ 12:30 pm
Cherokee Castle often plays host to expressions of Love! Enjoy an intimate afternoon of rich sound that only live performance provides. These consummate artists, Wende Harston and Hank Troy met in the 1980s after a performance in Denver featuring her in the title role of August Wilson’s “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.” Soon they were both in Queen City Jazz Band performing New Orleans-style Dixieland jazz for audiences throughout Colorado and around the country. Wende is a stage and screen actress and Hank plays piano for silent films and musical theatre. Both perform many musical styles and are thrilled to return to the Castle. In Love Notes they’ll share swing, ballads, blues, boogie, and more with songs such: “At Last”, “If I Loved You”, “On the Street Where you Live” and many more. Your reservation includes exploring the Castle, the music, desserts and savories at intermission, and a cash bar. An early timeline allows football enthusiasts to get home in time for the big game.
