About Sara

Hi there! I’m Sara, proud Douglas County resident and author of Live Well Douglas County, and I’m so glad you’re here!

My husband, Chris, and I have lived in Highlands Ranch for more than 20 years, and we’ve loved raising our two kids, Avery and Emmitt, in this incredible community. We enjoy traveling, live music, and spending time outdoors – especially here in our beautiful home state of Colorado. Our black lab, Otis, completes our little family and accompanies us on many of our adventures.

My background is in marketing and communications, and for over a decade I worked with local government organizations in Douglas County. Through that work, I developed a deep appreciation for all of the great events, amenities, and local businesses that make up our community.

I created Live Well Douglas County so that other people know about and can experience all of the great things that Douglas County has to offer. On the site you will find local information and resources, events, where to eat and drink, businesses, outdoor activities and the hidden gems that make our area so special. My goal is to elevate local businesses and showcase all the great things happening in Castle Pines, Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Parker, Sterling Ranch, and beyond.
