Hike ~ Walk Through Time

This walk is designed to introduce guests to the amazing land surrounding the castle. Enjoy the incredible views from the top of Cherokee Mountain as we explore the basic geology, local weather, and visit one of our archaeological sites. Participants will learn about the archaeological history as well as the early settlers who came to Douglas County in the 1800’s.

Start: Castle Parking Lot

Check in time:  7:45 am

Hike Time: 8:00-10:30 am

Hike Difficultly: Moderate 2 mi off trail, and include some steep off-trail hiking.  This hike is suitable for most people in good physical condition.  We recommend good hiking shoes, and long pants.  It is also suggested to bring sunscreen and at least 1 liter of water.
