Luckily\, there’s one on hand… and his name is Shrek. \n\n\n\nBased on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film\, Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure\, featuring all new songs from Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie; Caroline\, or Change) and a sidesplitting book by David Lindsay-Abaire. Shrek brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage and proves there’s more to the story than meets the ears. \n\n\n\nShow runs Jan. 16-Feb. 8. SUMMARY:Arts in the Afternoon Debussy and More: Harp\, Flute\, Viola
DESCRIPTION:The crystalline harp. The lyrical flute. The soulful viola. Their varied sounds fit naturally together\, even magically\, as Debussy proved when\, in 1915\, he wrote a sonata that combines them. So did Grammy-winning composer Miguel Del Águila\, though in a different century and a different hemisphere\, with his Submerged (2013). In both cases\, the result is music that can sing and dance\, muse and rejoice. Violist Phillip Stevens and friends will perform those works\, along with others composed for flute\, viola\, and harp. Concert host Betsy Schwarm will guide listeners through the music.
