Perfect Blend: A Community-First Coffee Shop in Parker

For Perfect Blend owner Shelby Varra, the idea for Perfect Blend began during COVID, when the world slowed down and priorities shifted.
“I really wanted to create something in Parker,” Shelby shares. “A place where people – especially moms – could gather and connect. I knew how impactful that kind of space could be.”
The inspiration struck during a visit to a small coffee shop in Tabernash called Simple Coffee. The sense of community she felt there stuck with her and became the foundation for what she would later build.
But bringing that vision to life didn’t happen overnight. It took two years to find the right location that truly allowed her to create the kind of space she envisioned, and another year of construction before opening in April 2024.
“There were definitely moments where it would’ve been easier to give up,” she says. “But I wanted to show my kids that you don’t have to quit on your dreams – you can keep going and succeed.”

Designed with Families in Mind
From the moment you walk into Perfect Blend, it’s clear this isn’t your typical coffee shop.
The space is bright and airy, with large windows that flood the room with natural light. It’s intentionally designed to be family-friendly, with room for high chairs and even a dedicated play area for little ones – something that’s rare to find.
“It was really important to me that moms feel comfortable here,” Shelby says. “You shouldn’t have to stress about bringing your kids with you.”
At the same time, the space easily transitions into a spot where you can meet a friend, host a book club, or even unwind after a long day.
And if that wasn’t enough, there’s wine, cocktails, and mocktails, too.
More Than Coffee
Perfect Blend goes beyond coffee with a full food menu that emphasizes quality and local partnerships.
Favorite menu items include:
- Breakfast bagels from The Springs Bagel Company
- The avocado chipotle melt
- Fresh, locally made treats like daily-delivered cinnamon rolls and cake pops
Shelby and her team also make many of their syrups in-house, cutting down on preservatives while creating fun, unique flavors you won’t find just anywhere.
The shop regularly features local vendors as well, giving it a bit of a “mini farmers market” feel and further supporting the Parker community.

A Space to Gather
Community is at the heart of everything Perfect Blend does.
The shop hosts events and is available to rent for special occasions like baby showers, book clubs, and gatherings of all kinds. And in a post-COVID world, Shelby has been intentional about creating a space where people can linger, reconnect, and not feel rushed.
“You can stay as long as you want,” she says. “That’s something people really needed again.”
A True Family Business
Perfect Blend is a family effort, owned by Shelby and her mom, Tisha Varra.
Shelby, a Parker native who attended Pioneer Elementary and graduated from Legend High School (part of its second graduating class), is deeply rooted in the community. She’s a mom of two (with another on the way) and is in the shop almost every day. When she’s not there, you might find her on stage – she has a background in musical theater and continues to perform locally, including at the PACE Center where you will see her in All Shook Up this summer.
Tisha, a loan officer, works behind the scenes helping with ordering, events, and keeping everything running smoothly.
Together, they’ve built something that reflects not just their vision, but their community.
“By supporting Perfect Blend, you’re supporting Parker,” Shelby says. “Our employees live here. Our vendors are local. Everyone involved is part of this community.”
From local mom-and-pop shops to weekends spent at the farmers market, she loves the strong sense of connection that defines Douglas County.
“It’s just such a special place,” she says. “There’s so much support for local businesses, and you really feel that here.”

Stop In and Stay Awhile
Whether you’re grabbing a morning coffee, meeting a friend, hosting an event, or just looking for a place where you can truly relax, Perfect Blend lives up to its name.
It’s more than a coffee shop, it’s a space built with intention, heart, and community in mind.
