Where to Get Ride of Yard Waste in Douglas County
Tired of piling your bags of leaves and other yard waste on the curb? Douglas County now offers slash-mulch and green yard waste at Greenworks, giving residents a local, convenient place to drop off branches, leaves, grass clippings, and other yard debris from landscaping and wildfire mitigation projects.
Acceptable items for slash site include: brush, grass/hay, leaves, mulch (natural, no dyes), pine needles, pinecones, sawdust, shrubs, sod, tree limbs, and weeds.
Unacceptable items include: appliances, dirt, fencing, lumber, pallets, railroad ties, roots, stumps, trash, wood with nails, rebar, wire, construction debris, and other non-vegetative materials,
Slash-mulch drop-off is open year-round, weather permitting, and reservations are not required. The site is closed on Sundays. A County operated loader is also on-site to load free wood chips for homeowners to use as mulch.

GreenWorks is Douglas County’s centralized hub for waste removal and recycling, bringing services like slash-mulch, electronics recycling and household hazardous waste into one convenient location for residents.

- Loads must be covered
